SUMMER COMEDY CAMPS for Kids & Teens NYC 2018

Each week campers discover the world of Improv, Stand-Up and NOW Sketch Comedy too. The focus is performance and creative writing techniques, but the real gift is tons of fun and numerous life skills development – team/social skills, self-confidence, public speaking, creative writing, critical thinking, listening, focus, eye contact and more. Laughter truly is the best medicine, reducing stress, blood pressure and other benefits to physical and mental health. William Fry of Stanford says “Humor… builds a better brain”. Tests at John Hopkins find laughter alone leads to better test scores.

WHERE: Broadway Comedy Club 318 West 53rd Street, NY NY 10019 – just West of 8th Ave, close to Times Square and Columbus Circle trains and buses.
TEACHERS: Liz Lord, Walt Frasier and other guests
TUITION: $500/Week, $850/Two Weeks, $2200/Six Weeks
SCHEDULE: 9:30-3:30 Monday thru Friday – early drop offs as early as 8:45. Pick up by 4pm. Campers 13 and older may be arrive/dismiss on their own with parental permission.

EACH WEEK INCLUDES:

Improv, Stand-up and Sketch Comedy, Classes, writing sessions, and open mic style mock performance. At least ONE professional show to watch the cast of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH perform Improv. Daily lunch and snacks provided. Weekly Showcase Fridays at 1pm (Invite friends and family to watch)

Students attending multiple weeks will develop a new comedy routine each week. While there is overlap, each week will feature at least one new game. We have students that have been taking our classes for years. Every time growing their skill sets and building their vocabulary of games and comedy routines. Some of our regulars have even performed on our public professional shows as guest artists.
