Content Creators Forum Teen Summer Camp NYC – More than just Sketch Comedy

This class is so much more than a sketch comedy class. Develop original content for various media platforms – learn to brainstorm, write, collaborate, film, edit, post and market your ideas. Content creation is not just for social media influencers. learning how to develop original content is a fun creative outlet and a valuable skill for marketing any product or service.

Requirements

  • parental consent and release forms

Recommended but not necessary

  • a cell phone with video camera
  • 13+ set up accounts on various platforms with parents prior to first class.
  • laptop or tablet with basic editing software

Work with Laurice Fattal, content creator for multiple platforms and co creator of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH Improv Comedy. Laurice has been creating content for the web for nearly 18 years and is now building a Tiktok channel Laurice has a few vids hitting 1-2+ million views and counting.

Schedule & Pricing

  • 1/2 Day Camp Content Creation intensive ONLY: Monday-Thursday 1-3pm plus join us Fridays 1-3 for weekly comedy showcases. Class includes editing support outside of class time from staff and may require additional time for writing, filming, editing. $250/week
  • Full Day Comedy Camp $350/week includes Monday-Friday 9:30am-12pm Improv & Stand-Up Comedy. $350/week

We are very excited to be back offering in person comedy camp for kids & teens at the Broadway Comedy Club, Times Square, NYC. However we understand many are not ready for in person events. So we have three options to participate, including online options available worldwide. LIVE from TIMES SQUARE indoors in person at the Broadway Comedy Club (318 West 53rd Street @ 8th Ave) Monday-Thursday 9:30-4pm, plus dress rehearsals and showcases on Fridays $350/week

LIVE from CENTRAL PARK outdoors in person at the Bethesda Fountain & Terrace (Rain or Shine, campers work under the terrace if weather is bad). Monday-Thursday 9:30a-12pm $200/week includes access to online activates 1-3pm and Friday Showcases (Online OR at the Club).

ONLINE via ZOOM WORLDWIDE Monday -Thursday 1-3pm EST (New York Times, 10a-12p West Coast). Friday 1-3pm Showcases

FRIDAY SHOWCASES – We will offer two ways to showcase this summer EVERY Friday. AT THE CLUB, 9:30am campers will run a mock show (dress rehearsal). after a 12pm lunch break, friends and family are invited to see the 1pm show. ONLINE Campers will meet at 1pm to plan the show and warm-up. 2pm Showcases for invited guests (family and friends)

STAFF

Artistic Director, Walt Frasier, is a New York City based actor, comedian and singer that has appeared on TV (Billions, Blue Bloods, Royal Pains, Lilyhammer, Letterman, etc) and STAGE (Off-Broadway, Regional Theater and National Tours). A professional actor since 1995, Frasier has been performing and teaching comedy since 2002.

Stand-Up Comedy by Walt Fraser is a text book for comics and teachers looking to bring fun creative writing sections into the classroom.

Improv on Zoom by Walt Frasier is a list of games with tips and tricks to play online as well as Improv technique and wisdom.

Walt Frasier has been teaching kids, teens and adults for 18 years. In addition to his comedy school in Times Square (NOW Online) Frasier has worked with hundreds of corporate teams, colleges and K12 schools.

Other staff includes professional teaching artists from Improv 4 Kids as well as our teenterns (OUR CITs)- current and former students for two or more years that now help run shows and class sessions.
