LAUGHTER STARTS HERE!
Since 2002, the New York Improv Theater has delivered the laughs from Times Square NYC. But the only thing more fun than attending one of our shows, is coming back to play the games yourselves.
Every session includes TWO hours of game play. Everything in Improv is a game, from the ice breaker warm ups, to the rechnique builders to the games you see in our show, WHOSE LINE IS ANYWAY and even full length improvised plays and musicals.
We lean heavily into performance games. After week one which focuses on technique and orientation for newest players, we just play.
Our #1 rule is HAVE FUN but NEVER at another’s expense. We believe the best teacher is story and play. We create a fun safe space for all to play and then, BAM, we play!
WHY IMPROV COMEDY?
Improv comedy, beyond the fun, is a powerful tool. We daily work with corporate teams and student groups from around the world. We spread.joy and laughter one show or workshop at a time while teaching invaluable life skills: creativity, critical thinking, public speaking, etc.
Additionally, our mission is to knock stage fright off the top of the phobias list and attack social anxiety at the source. Simply playing these games develops self confidence. We move past ego and insecurity. We discover our best selves.
