HAVE YOU SEEN THIS VIDEO from NC, 2014
Can you imagine jumping in for a swim and this is right out of sight of the breakers?
AND THERE HAVE BEEN SEVEN NORTH CAROLINA ATTACKS IN PAST THREE WEEKS…
NPS REPORTS: http://www.npr.org/2015/07/05/420237437/dont-blame-the-sharks-for-perfect-storm-of-attacks-in-north-carolina
I for one will be that much more tuned in to shark week this year (STARTING TONIGHT)
On June 13, 2015 my wife and I drove to Avon, NC just north of Cape Hatteras on the famous outer banks. We were meeting her brother and family. A few days before a 13 year old girl was attacked by a shark farther south – closer to South Carolina. But we we still assured all the teen boys with the family vacation week that there was nothing to fear. Were we wrong?
I grew up having zero fear of sharks. Even after watching Jaws perhaps far too young. By the time I graduated high school I was scuba diving with dozens of sharks of man eating proportion in the Bahamas – including dives on what were known as SHARK HOLES.
The odds of getting attacked is so astronomical… until now. June 14 2015 two more teens were attacked on the same beach about 30 miles form each other. “Experts” were talking single rogue shark – I suppose they have not seen the hours of SHARK WEEK programming dispelling rumors of ROGUE SHARKS. We went fishing on the beach and pretty much the ONLY thing anyone caught were sharks.
I shot this my last night in NC
While fishing we saw kids swimming near the fishing pier at 8pm. We caught these sharks right behind the breakers – MAYBE 10-15 yards from the beach 0 TOPS! Basedon video at top of page, clearly there are BIG sharks in the NC surf at all times BUT NEVER swim at dusk. AND NEVER swim near fisherman.
We drove home June 19. By June 26 there was another report. And today yet another…
If you are waiting for a joke…. I was serious. This is no laughing matter. WE MUST have a healthy respect for nature. NEVER FEAR.
LIVE and ENJOY the summer.
DON’T TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS
