We daily host student groups around the world for Improv and Stand-Up Comedy Workshops. ALSO Acting, Singing & Dance sessions. LAUGHING STARTS HERE – our signature Improv Comedy Masterclass/Workshop!
For up to two hours one of our teachers will lead your groups through a series of warm-up, technique building and performance games. A must for any performer, we also use improv to teach students SEL (Social Emotional Learning) and corporate groups team building, leadership, sales and service. Simply playing improv comedy games develops creativity, critical thinking, public speaking, listening, focus, self-confidence. self-awareness and more.
As an artist – actor, singer, dancer, painter, director, writer etc etc etc – developing improvisational skills helps you with scripted and non scripted work. We learn to dig deeper while being in the moment. We discover ourselves and develop better characters. We explore movements and create new worlds out of thin air. We learn to let go and let our talents take over, free form ego and insecurity, which both destroy creativity and team.
We can host your group at our Times Square theater or send our teachers anywhere nationwide, almost daily dropping local schools and theater studios.

IMPROV COMEDY RESIDENCY
Bring our teachers to you!!! For a day, a week or a full semester. Improvisation is a great way to start a theater program at your school, camp or community center. Beyond the cost of the teacher and space, there is little to no additional costs (props, costumes, sets, scripts, royalties etc). PLUS everyone is a star. Most often traditional theater truly benefits a handful of students and a fun hang out for others. IMPROV gives everyone a chance to shine. No one is stuck playing a tree, unless they choose to as the character choice.
Two types of residencies
- Let our staff present the intro to Improv workshop for every student at your school. 4-6 45-60 minute sessions daily. Most powerful when presented with a show to introduce the team.
- Let our teach work with one group over extended period of time (weekly, bi weekly etc). This will end with a performance showcase by the students.
STAND-UP COMEDY MASTER CLASS
In a single 2-3 hour workshop each student will be on the road to their first 5-minute routine. We will send you an online version of Walt-Frasier’s, The Stand-Up Comedy Workbook. Student will prepare the first exercise before arriving.
- After a brief introduction, students will each present their stories open mic style. Student should have completed STEP ONE & TWO of the workbook, brainstorm ideas, brainstorm details.
- Students will receive feed back and few generic ways to step up material and a few minutes to rework their routines. STEPS THREE & FOUR Find the funny, Outline your routines.
- Students present their stories a second time with feedback.
- At this point we can arrange a semi public showcase at our theater or be ready to host one at your school/community center.
