How To Play

• Setup: Have all students stand up and find their own space, ready to listen for instructions.

  • WALK: When you say “walk,” students can move anywhere in the room with purpose and energy, but always in control. (If space is limited, they can walk in place).
  • STOP: When you say “stop,” students must come to a full stop, standing straight with hands at their sides, eyes and ears focused on your next instruction.
• Safety First: Emphasize that students should not touch any objects or other people unless absolutely necessary for safety. Instead, they should use eye contact and focus to communicate their intentions, especially when crossing paths with others, being respectful of everyone’s space.
• Game Play – Basic: Start by calling out “WALK” and “STOP” repeatedly to ensure everyone understands and follows these basic commands accurately.
• Adding Actions (Gradually): Once students are comfortable, gradually introduce new pairs of actions. Introduce two at a time and ensure the group has a grasp on each pair before moving on.
