Improv 4 Teens Programming delivers cultural arts (music, Theater), language arts (creative writing, story telling) and character building (community, leadership) curriculum. Simply playing improv games develops creativity, critical thinking, public speaking, self confidence, self awareness, listening, focus and more.

With consideration of the obvious, Walt and his team are actually doing what they are teaching. This makes a difference to many groups. It is important that theater groups work with professionals. What is not obvious is that the entire experience benefits the group. They are able to take class in an actual club where the professionals perform. That alone adds an immersion quality not available by hiring just an improve teacher to come to a studio somewhere. • Live performances and workshops to introduce the art form

Times Square Field Trip or School Assembly

• We introduce the art form via our interactive musical comedy show improvised based on audience suggestions and participation. Bring our show to your school or treat your students to our show live from Times Square NYC.
• The initial step is bolstered by mini workshops that get the students up in their feet playing games.

Residency Program

• Students participate in an extended classes, learning numerous techniques and performance games.
• Students perform a showcase for friends, family and or peers.

Professional Development

• Teachers and Staff participate in a workshop that both develops their personal skills, akin to our corporate team building and leadership training.
• Teachers learn how to use improv in the classroom to boater their lesson plans and classroom management skills.

Resource Materials

• Improv Comedy by Walt Frasier – students in residency will receive a copy of our text book.
• Unlimited use license of digital books, videos and other reference materials.

Artistic Director, Walt Frasier has 25+ years of professional credits in comedy, Theater and music. He got his big break in TV performing comedy sketches on MTV’s Stankervision, Late Nite with David Letterman, TruTV’s Friends of the People, and most recently on HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay. As an actor, Frasier has appeared on NBC’s Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods, USA’s Royal Pains (Filmed in Puerto Rico), Netflix’s Lilyhammer (filmed in Norway) and NICK’s Naked Brothers Band. In addition to 1000s of live performances around the world, Frasier has also appeared in numerous commercials, industrials, webisodes and reality TV shows. Arthur Avenue regulars may also recognize Walter, if you add a white beard and red suit, as he has been official Little Italy Santa for the past 15 years.
