In 2026, The New York Improv Theater celebrates its 24th year as the home of short form improv in New York City, a journey that began in 2002. While many focus on long form, we’re old school, dedicated to a non-competitive, collaborative approach to creating great theater.

We welcome you to experience this firsthand with weekly shows, classes for kids, teens, and adults, and improv jams that provide paid opportunities for New York artists. We also partner with corporate teams and student groups worldwide, extending our non-competitive mission throughout Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, Rockland County, and Connecticut.
