1. The Principal
This is a twist on “Press Conference.” One player leaves the room and returns as The Principal. Their mission: to announce a school problem, its solution, and a celebrity guest speaker who will help deliver the message. The catch? The Principal has to guess these three things! The other players (students and audience) ask questions, dropping hints. It’s a great way to get everyone involved!
- Variations: Try making the guesser the valedictorian at graduation. They have to guess what the class achieved, their summer plans, or even some bizarre college destinations.
2. Curfew
A variation on “Interrogation,” this guessing game features two parents grilling their teen child. The “teen” has to guess why they were late (what they were doing), who they were with (usually a celebrity or fictional character), and how they got home (a strange mode of transportation).
3. Not Off Book Yet (or The Unprepared Actor)
One player holds a book or play and reads all the dialogue except for one character’s lines. The other player, playing that character, has to improvise their lines on the spot.
4. Questions Only
Players perform a scene where they can only ask questions. If a player makes a statement, they are immediately replaced by the next person in line. This game really hones listening skills!
5. The ABCs of Comedy
Two players perform a scene. The first player starts their first line with a word beginning with “A.” The next player’s line must start with a “B” word, and so on, all the way through “Z.”
- Variations: You don’t have to start at “A”; you can also try going backwards through the alphabet.

6. Emotional Carpool
Four friends are heading somewhere after school. Get a specific car type and destination from the audience. Each player is secretly assigned an emotion. The driver starts alone, embodying their emotion. Every time a new character gets in the car, their emotion takes over the entire car. Once all four are in, they start looking for excuses to leave in reverse order, and the car’s emotion reverts to the previous player’s emotion.
7. After-School Job Interview
Get a job from the audience. Two players team up to become the manager, speaking one word at a time. Two other players form the job seeker, responding to questions by speaking in unison at the exact same time.
8. School Newspaper
Get four fake or real headlines and assign one to each of four players. Each player sings their headline twice. The second and/or third time around, they change the headlines, taking bits and pieces from all the given lines to create bizarre and humorous combinations.
9. Late For School
Two students and a teacher start on stage. A fourth student walks in late. The late student has to guess why they are late, who they were with, and how they got to school. The other students give clues by pantomiming.
10. School Play
Two or more players begin a scene from a fake school play. Get a title from the audience. Once the scene is established, the MC yells “FREEZE!” and inserts a specific style of theater (e.g., musical, melodrama, sci-fi). The scene then continues in that new style, transitioning through several different styles throughout the game.
These games are fantastic for fostering a lighthearted atmosphere and can truly enhance focus and presence, while boosting communication and connection among teens!
