Question: What will my students be doing in an Improv Workshop? Answer:

Here is a recent email I sent to a New Jersey School. We use versions of the same workshops working with k12 students, college & University students and corporate teams. We host groups at our Times Square NYC theater and tour schools, camps, community centers, family events, corporate offices, theaters etc DC to BOSTON and beyond. EMAIL FOR MORE INFORMATION

What will my students be doing in an Improv Workshop?

Games vary. There are 1000s to choose from including ice breakers, technique builders and more performance style. I try to balance, teaching at least 1 performance game in every session, giving a finished, competed notion – something students could demonstrate in a school talent show. After 16+ hours of work, students could put on a 30-60 minute show.

I usually pick the games. Mostly because I often switch gears mid session based on skills and needs of any give student group. After 20 years I have a knack for which games will deliver what this particular group needs after the first 5 minutes. But all the games, while each has its unique function, are tools to teach community and leadership skills.

Here is a resource I share with all my clients, students and colleagues. It’s a work in progress, with eventual goal of publication, but free to use via link…
